Project Goals

The goal of Akron Community Foundation’s donor-advised fund campaign is to educate potential donors about this unique method of charitable giving, as well as its benefits. The concept of a donor-advised fund is complex and one that we wanted to communicate clearly with visitors, so we created an easy-to-use microsite and accompanying explainer video to do just that. Having worked closely with the community foundation on previous campaigns, we already had a great understanding of their organization and audience.

The campaign is centered around the theme of growth, and we used a tree to represent that graphically, playing up the community foundation’s logo. We incorporated other organic textures and elements to carry this theme throughout, which added warmth to what can be complex subject matter. Simple navigation and a helpful video allow users to learn about donor-advised funds in several ways.

The accompanying digital marketing campaign directs users to specific landing pages of the microsite where visitors can learn about donor-advised funds, watch the explainer video or download supporting materials. These elements work together to help educate visitors so that when they’re ready to give, they consider a donor-advised fund through Akron Community Foundation.
